Description

Starting in the 1880s and continuing on through the early 1900s, buttons were considered very vogue. This was a very opulent era which can be seen in the incredible workmanship and considerable detail that went into the crafting of these fashion-forward buttons.

This stunning button is made from delicately carved abalone shell and depicts a lucky horse shoe with artful floral details. Excellent condition, this lovely button has become a fabulous on-trend pendant with a forged link silver chain with lobster-claw clasp.

18 inch chain with 2 link drop to pendant, button measures 1 ¼ x 1 ¼ inches.

How this defines the urban equestrian: Horses were a mainstay to the Victorian way of life and were depicted throughout the fashion world as a sign of wealth and prosperity. Horseshoes are universally a sign of good luck!
