This was a very opulent era which can be seen in the incredible workmanship and considerable detail  that went into the crafting of these fashion-forward buttons. This stunning button is cast in brass  and depicts a wild boar surrounded by foliage with the traditional hunt horn detail.

Excellent condition, this lovely button has become a fabulous on-trend pendant with a forged link antiqued brass chain with lobster-claw clasp. 18 inch chain with 2 link drop to pendant, button measures 1 ¼ x  1 ¼ inches.

How this defines the urban equestrian: Hunting for wild game was done on horseback during the end of the Victorian era and was considered a very sporting event for the elite and upper-class. Other popular game were elk, deer and foxes, and fox hunting is still enjoyed by many equestrians today.
