Beautifully ornate with such Equestrian history! This stunning piece was once used by Spanish riders as part of their saddle, with a leather strap attached to create this amazing stirrup, or irons as the English would say. Most likely this stirrup was used for ceremony as they were not all that practical for every day riding, although hundreds of years ago this type of stirrup was completely en vogue.

Fabulously designed brass with ornate floral swirls and horse head medallions on each side, enclosed pointed toe, straight iron bar across top for stirrup leather, triangle holes in bottom for breathability and drainage. Excellent antique condition with one note: There is a broken edge near the horse head medallion on the right side (see picture).

Measures 10 inches long x 5 inches wide x 5 inches tall.
